This is a hand painted silk square small in shades of green, turquoise blue, yellow and golden yellow.
The swan design is hand drawn by Louise in the art of batik this is when hot wax is used as a resist to create images of fabric, the wax is removed at the end and the scarf is washed and steam ironed to give a lovely silky smooth finish.
The swan and drumlin design is inspired by county Monaghans rustic landscape the roving hills, drumlins and many lakes filled with wildlife the swan that is a personal favorite of mine bringing a touch of Celtic myth to add to the natural beauty.
