This is a hand painted silk square small in shades of green, turquoise blue, yellow and golden yellow.
The Celtic design is hand drawn by Louise in the art of batik this is when hot wax is used as a resist to create images of fabric, the wax is removed at the end and the scarf is washed and steam ironed to give a lovely silky smooth finish.
This Celtic design is inspired by the stone carvings found a Newgrange and I have chosen greens and blues to represent the Monaghan landscape with its beautiful drumlins and lakes filled with lush greens, yellows and blues.
