This silk scarf is hand painted in Ireland by Louise Loughman in Kingfisher shades of teal green with bright turquoise and deep orange and chestnut to give an earthy feel.
The design is inspired by the stone carvings at Newgrange one of the worlds oldest heritage sights. The painting in wax of spirals flowing around the scarf are very dramatic and give a contemporary feel to an ancient pattern.
Because each scarf is hand painted and the nature of batik and the flow of dye on fabric each scarf is a unique one off.
